Prayer's End is the Nineteenth episode of the anime series Gun X Sword. It first aired on the 8th of November, 2005. It is the third episode of the fifth volume: Tainted Innocence.
Synopsis[]
"Somewhere, someone we don't know is hurting right now. But even if we felt like doing something about it, we're helpless to act. And as much as we think our hearts should go out to them, it doesn't, not really. But that doesn't mean we should give up on everything. I've decided to cherish every single person I meet. If we all just did that much, I know the world would be a better place." - Wendy
Traveling in the undersea tunnel, Van and co are faced with a new threat. Carossa and Melissa take matters into their own hands, and Ray resurfaces to cause mayhem.
Plot[]
The protagonists enter a secret passageway inside a cavern using the Hoverbase, but they later encounter two Drakul armors.
The El Dorado Five and Priscilla fend off the Draukuls while allowing the others to proceed.
Joshua drives the Hoverbase further into the tunnel, coming across a maintenance shaft. This allows Van to summon Dann without destroying the tunnel. Suddenly, Van is attacked by some energy bolts and he is surprised to see Ray and Volkien. Before they can act though, they are met by Carossa and Melissa in Sin of Friday and Sen of Saturday, respectively the sixth and seventh armors of the Original Seven.
Van initially fights against them both alone, finding their two on one approach difficult to handle. Eventually Ray assists Van by shooting at the Twins, but they manage to damage Volkien's drill in the process.
The El Dorado Five and Priscilla contact Joshua, telling him that the tunnel is starting to flood. The El Dorado Five request an extra energy cylinder as they are low on power. Carmen takes them one in her Tonda. Priscilla saves Carmen from an ambush from one dragon, destroying it. The El Dora V is able to destroy the other Drakul once it gets it's power boost from Carmen.
Yukiko and Wendy prepare a meal for everyone, knowing that they will be hungry after they deal with the armors.
After a brutal fight, Van manages to injure Carossa. Ray launches a missile at Carossa but it is intercepted by Melissa, which destroys Sen of Saturday. Melissa, dying, begs Carossa to turn back and get The Claw's forgiveness. Saddened by her death, a furious Carossa charges at Ray, but is soon shot as well.
Continuity[]
- Van and his group are closing in on The Claw.
- Carossa's jealousy of Michael is seen yet again. Melissa accompanies him to stop Van & Co.
- Ray reappears after the destruction of the Kingdom of Bokini. He is still tracking Van via a headset in Wendy's luggage. He also makes his presence known this time and helps Van fight Carossa & Melissa.
- Upon meeting Melissa & Carossa, Ray wonders if the Carossa Project he encountered in B-5-10 had been a success.
- Melissa & Carossa are killed by Ray.
- During his final attack, Carossa manages to injure Ray. This injury will affect Ray for the rest of the series.

- Van tells Priscilla that his fight against The Claw is his own.
"The time has finally come at last, an invincible body here reborn, behold the amazing, two legged ball!"
- The El Dorado Five defend the others against the Drakul.
Van: "Come one get the lead out already! Look for a place to bring down Dann!"
Joshua: "Yeah you got it."
- As the El Dorado Five and Priscilla take on the Drakul armors, Joshua drives the Hoverbase further into the tunnel so Van can summon Dann.
"Looks like I'm the first one here. Already got a heat source too. If it's The Claw I better hurry up and kill him, before he does."
- Ray arrives in the tunnel, ready to fight The Claw.
Van: "Hey! You're the ones I saw with Woo aren't ya?"
Carossa: "Yeah that's right, good of you to remember you scum! The name's Carossa and this is my sister Melissa. On behalf of The Original Seven we are sworn to destroy you and your stupid armor!"
- Carossa and Van face off.
Van: "Lets get this over with so you two can take me to The Claw!"
Carossa: "Sure... We'll take you."
Melissa: "Yeah we'll kill you..."
Carossa: "And take you're armor to our comrade."
Van: "Heh, lets see you try!"
- Van fights both Carossa and Melissa.
Wendy: "How can you cook at a time like this?"
Yukiko: "Well they'll all be coming back soon and they'll probably be hungry right?"
- Yukiko and Wendy make some food for when they others return.
Carmen: "Hey boys I brought you your energy tank! Here it comes!"
El Dorado Five: "Right! El Dora charge!"
- Carmen gives the El Dora V the energy they need to defeat a Drakul
Carossa: "Wait, what's happening? He's firing, but I... Oh my God! Stop it Melissa! You can't survive that he'll kill you!"
Melissa: "I know but, if I don't he'll kill you!"
- Melissa sacrifices herself to stop Ray's blast destroying Carossa.
"Carossa, don't worry... Carossa... I'll never abandon you... And that's why..."
- Melissa's final words.
Carossa:"Melissa! I swear I'm going to avenge your death!"
Ray: "Huh? Little wretch!"
Carossa: "RAAAGGHHH! I'll kill you even if you're the only one!"
