El Dorado Five: Series History

This article details the history of the El Dorado Five. (Nero, Jose, Barrio and Carlos)

Heroes One More Time

The remaining members of the El Dorado Five; Nero, Barrio, Jose & Carlos spend most of their days in The Pink Amigo, a restaurant in their home town of Gloria. The Pink Amigo previously belonged to the fifth member of the El Dorado Five, Chizuru (deceased) but is now owned by her granddaughter, Yukiko.

The El Dorado Five spend a lot of time drinking and reminiscing in The Pink Amigo. One day, Nero is and Jose are arguing about a previous adventure, getting each other riled up. Yukiko tries to calm the situation but Franco has had enough of their behavior and tells them off. Nero and Jose are offended by Franco's comments but Barrio steps in to calm Nero and Jose down. Wendy bursts into the restaurant needing help with Van, who has passed out from hunger.

As Van eats his meal, Nero, Jose, Barrio and Carlos (asleep) sit with Van and are shocked to learn that Van was the one who defeated The Baron Mayor and the Wild Bunch. The treat him to more food and discuss armor with him. Nero asks Van if he lives his life right on the edge like most armor riders do. Jose doesn't think Van quite gets it though.

Suddenly, the other customers in The Pink Amigo start having a go at the El Dorado V, moaning about the group for their constant prattling about the "old days". This causes a bar brawl between the El Dorado V and the youngsters, much to Yukiko's dismay.

The youngsters decide that fighting the "old timers" isn't worth it even though the El Dorado V want to fight. However, Yukiko interjects with her song, bringing peace. Nero tells Van that when Yukiko sings, she reminds him, Jose, Barrio and Carlos of Chizuru.

Upon calming down, The El Dorado head outside with Van and take him to the Temple and reminisce about Chizuru and their days as Armor riders. They ask Van if he has heard of her although he hasn't. They tell Van she could out drink and out brawl anyone, and raise a glass in her name. Barrio offers Van a drink bit Van declines. Barrio gives him one anyway and Van passes out.

The next day the El Dorado V end up in jail for their drunken behavior. The Sheriff is disappointed in them for clinging to the past as they were his childhood heroes. He leaves them locked up to calm down.

The El Dorado V then hear a loud explosion, and see out the window a massive Armor, piloted by Bucci. The Sheriff then lets the El Dorado V out of their cell, and they decide to fight.

They head to the temple and activate their armor, the El Dora V. They fight off Bucci's Armor. Although they manage to fend him off, Bucci's Armor proves to strong and almost destroys them. Yukiko starts to sing her song again to encourage them.

Luckily for them, Van decides to lend them a hand by throwing them the final component, The Pink Amigo Armor that was originally used by Chizuru. This gives them the power to destroy Bucci's armor. They spare Bucci and tell him he can make it better after he pays for his crimes.

Later, Yukiko tells Nero that Wendy and Van have left town. Carlos finally wakes up and thinks he dreamt all the events that just transpired, to which Barrio tells him it was no dream.

Carmen Goes Home

Prior to the episode, Carmen visited Gloria and met the El Dorado V* and Yukiko. She has a picture of them to

remember them and they gave her the picture they took with Van & Wendy to give it to Van when she sees him.

"Holy cow I can't believe they came! Well why not! The more people on our side the better! I'm sure Van will be happy!" - Carmen regarding the El Dora V and Yukiko joining them against The Claw

Speaking with Carmen over her headset, The El Dorado V* tell her that they and Yukiko are on their way to meet up with Van and the gang. They also tell Carmen that Bucci upgraded El Dora V and made it stronger.

Later, the appear in front of Carmen, who is pleased to have more people on their side against The Claw.

Follow the X Spot

Van: "Whattya doing here?"

Nero: "We're the welcome wagon! Sheesh a thank you'd be nice!"

- Van is surprised to meet with the El Dorado Five again.

Travelling to the rendezvous point with Wendy on a Donkey and Cart they purchased, Van is surprised when they are picked by by the El Dora V and placed on the hoverbase. The El Dorado Five have been waiting for them, along with Carmen, Joshua and Yukiko. Van wonders what they are all doing here. He is then surprised again to see Priscilla, the owner of the hoverbase.

Inside the base, everyone sits in the bridge and Van wonder why there are so many people here, considering The Claw is his enemy. Wendy tells him there is nothing wrong with a little extra help and Van reluctantly agrees. Nero tells him that the El Dorado Five want to stop The Claw, as his machinations were what caused Bucci to go mad back in Gloria.

Carmen affirms that everyone here wants to stop The Claw, and she tells them the two main goals they need to fulfill, getting to the coordinates on from the Data Board and scrounging up money for supplies. She introduces Manson to the group, who has a job for everyone. He and Carmen tell Van and Co that the coordinates on the Data Board point to a location just off of Bokini. They can get there through the Seaport, but the region is under control of Catherine Nakata, Queen of Bokini. In order to progress to the coordinates, they must capture the Queen in order to sail through the Seaport.

Carmen and Manson explain that Bokini only allows women to enter, and harbor's many women who have fled from abuse, meaning violence isn't an option. The El Dorado Five are forced to stay on the hoverbase with the other men as the women take charge in order to retrieve the Queen.

Manson later spends some time with the El Dorado Five on the hoverbase drinking. He brings a passed out Carlos to the Bridge and tells Van and Joshua bout his past with Catherine.

Later, Nero, Jose, Barrio and Carlos are passed out from being drunk when the girls return with The Queen.

Prayers Are For Saudade

"Hey, um, if we don't get any supplies... Uh can anybody hear me?" - Joshua tries to wake the passed out El Dorado Five

While Van and Carmen gather the information they need from Catherine, Joshua tries to wake the El Dorado Five, who have passed out from drinking. He is unsuccessful.

Upon finding the secret sea entrance to The Claw's base, The El Dorado V along with the other heroes travel through the tunnel on Priscilla's Hoverbase.

Prayer's End

Yukiko: "Sorry for all the commotion! They are always like this!"

Barrio: "Actually we're usually worse!" - Yukiko and Barrio talk with Wendy on the Hoverbase.

Having been travelling in the undersea tunnel for 3 days now, Nero acts as look out for the group. He quickly becomes bored and goes for a drink, with Jose criticizing him. Wendy arrives with some food to the El Dorado's delight, but Yukiko appears, telling them that food is for Van. Yukiko gives them some more food. Nero asks Yukiko how things went with Franco, but Yukiko tells him they are just friends.

Van and Priscilla arrive but before Van can try Wendy's dish, Carmen burst in the room and grabs the plate for herself, much to the annoyance of everyone else.

Suddenly, the whole Hoverbase grinds to a stop and Joshua tells everyone he spots some kind of depot up ahead. Proceeding further, Van is shocked when a Dragon-Armor ambushes the Hoverbase. Priscilla offers to fight the Dragon-Armor, noting that she is willing to risk her life for others. The El Dorado Five join her, allowing the others in the Hoverbase to carry on ahead out of harms way.

Van warns The El Dorado Five that the Dragon-Armor's are tough, and that they only need distract it to let the others escape. The El Dorado Five announce that they will repay Van for helping them back in Gloria. Using Bucci's new engine, they throw the Dragon into the ceiling, but are attacked by another dragon. Priscilla uses Brownie to help even the fight, allowing the others to escape.

During the fight, The El Dora V goes full power, activating the El Dora Soul, shocking Priscilla. However, they expend a lot of energy doing this, and are put on the defensive by the Dragons. The contact Joshua over a headset and request a backup energy canister.

Carmen arrives to provide the El Dora V a back up energy canister, but is almost ambushed by the Dragon Armor. Prisiclla uses this distraction to attack the Dragon at the base of it's neck, destroying it. The El Dora V is able to destroy the other Dragon and they all catch up with the Hoverbase.

Wonderful Universe

Nero: "Yup, the only thing they could be after is world domination!"

Jose: "Yep, it's the one thing evil always flocks too."

Barrio: "Don't get ahead of yourselves, we still hafta fix the El Dora Soul." - Barrio reminds his team that the need to fix The El Dora V before they go to battle.

After splitting from Ray and burying Melissa and Carossa, Van and go are finally able to leave the tunnel on the Hoverbase. Joshua drives them to an abandoned Relay tower and the protagonist's explore it.

The El Dorado Five are the first to enter, using the El Dora V to punch a hole in the building to allow them access with Yukiko. They come across a wounded man, who seems to be linked to The Claw.

They bring the injured man and a model of the island they found onto the Hoverbase. The El Dorado learn from Carmen that they are at the edge of the island, and have to work to the center in order to reach The Claw. Nero and Jose are rearing to go, but Barrio reminds them that The El Dora V needs to be repaired in order to be fully functional in any upcoming fights.

The El Dorado Five get to work on the repairs and upgrades on the El Dora V.

Later, the wounded man dies from his wounds, not before telling everyone about The Claw's plan to destroy the world, using Michael and Saudade. The group bury the man, and contemplate his words.

The next day, Joshua is looking for Wendy. The Eldorado Five tell him she's hanging out washing on the deck. Joshua goes to see if she is ok, but overhears Wendy talking with Michael and Fasalina, and alerts Van, Carmen and the others.

They all confront Fasalina and Michael, asking about The Claw's plan to destroy the world. She tells them it's actually the opposite. The Claw plans to sacrifice himself to bring world peace, reformatting the Endless Illusion so all living things will find commonality, creating true equality. However, the protagonists are all against this idea, as it would mean they would become mindless and without identity. Nero, Jose and Barrio are not willing to submit to what they think is evil.

Realizing they can't convince them to join them or leave, Michael and Fasalina escape. Fasalina summons her armor, Dahlia of Wednesday to stop the protagonist's going any further.

Prayers to Heaven & Peace on Earth

Joshua: "But all Carlos ever does is sleep!"

Nero: "You idiot! His spirit is always awake!"

Barrio: "And anyway kid, Carlos is our secret weapon! You never know, he might come in handy in the 11th hour!" - The El Dorado Five need Nero to function at full strength.

With Fasalina threatening to halt their advance, the protagonists head inside the Hoverbase as Van confronts her.

Nero, Jose and Bariio are shocked to see The El Dora Soul, as it is covered in dust sheets. Barrio grabs Joshua and asks for an explanation. Joshua tells the El Dorado Five that it was them who did that, and they can't remember as they were to drunk. Carmen, Wendy and Priscilla leave to scout out the area up ahead, and Nero tells them they will handle things at the base.

Fixing up The El Dora V, Jose asks Joshua where Carlos is, but Joshua doesn't know. Joshua asks if it even matter as Carlos is always asleep anyway. Nero and Barrio tell him that Carlos is their secret weapon so he should go and find him.

Finalizing their tweaks, The El Dorado Five head out to hep Van with Fasalina. They manage to kick her off a cliff, and tell her they won't go easy on her just because she is a woman. Fasalina is quick to retreat and they pursue her.

The catch up with Van and notice a rocket going into space. Jose wonders if it is Fasalina, but Van tells them it is Michael on Saudade.

For Whose Sake?

Wendy: "I say we do it."

Joshua: "Yeah but..."

Wendy: "Cuz if we don't, we'll lose Van."

Nero: "We wouldn't want him to kick the bucket."

Jose: "Yeah if he dies, then that will be the end of it!"

Barrio: "We'll all be on the chopping block!" - The group are committed to helping Van.

With Van unable to connect to Dann's satellite, The El Dorado Five use the El Dora Soul to carry Dann back to the hoverbase. The group learn that Van's life is connected to Dann so if Dann can't heal, Van will die. To make matters worse, Yukiko tells everyone that Wendy is missing.

That evening, the group are contemplating the issues at hand when Wendy returns. She tells everyone she went to see The Claw, and has learned that The Claw was responsible for destroying Dann's Satellite. She also tells them that Michael was the one in the rocket sent to the moon, which has something to do with The Claw's plan.

The group have dinner and wonder what to do. Priscilla suggest that they could send Dann to one of the other Satellites in space used by one of the dead members of The Original Seven. Van thinks he could use Gadved's satellite for Diablo of Monday. This sets the plan to launch Dann into space to Diablo's satellite.

Joshua outlines the plan to the group, telling them that they can use the abandoned base and the data left behind there. The El Dorado say they could just use the El Dora Soul to throw Dann into the atmosphere, but Joshua tells them it would fail. Joshua can go over the launch patterns left by The Claw's group for Saudade, but he's going to need a lot of help. The group are committed to helping him so they can save Van.

The El Dorado assist the plan by using the El Dora Soul to lift and carry heavy equipment.

Eventually after lots of testing an simulations, the group succeed in finding a way to launch Van safely.

Everyone has a group photo to celebrate their success.

The next day, The El Dorado are present with the others as Van is launched into space inside Dann.

A Song for Everyone

Nero: "Yukiko, ahead of us lies the battlefield, where we'll spill our righteous blood, and offer up our lives."

Jose: "We consider ourselves blessed to have so grand a stand-off as our final battle."

Barrio: "We're glad to be counted amongst the brave."

Nero: "So if the only reason you're still with us now is because your concerned for our well being don't bother." - The El Dorado Five suggest Yukiko leave for safety prior to the final battle.

After Van's launch, the protagonists wait in anticipation of his return. Wendy witnesses a strange beam of light being launched into space, and wonders what it could be. The others wonder if it has something to do with Michael, to which Wendy thinks it is possible. Joshua hopes it isn't a laser aimed at Van. Nero scolds him for possibly jinxing their situation.

Joshua tells the group that although they lost contact with Van, he should have reached the space depot a while ago. Tensions are high but Wendy assures them that she believes in Van. The El Doradro Five agree, thinking of Van like their own disciple.

Joshua tells everyone that Ray wants to head to The Claw's base, which will take seven days to reach. The group get to work preparing themselves for battle.

After a week of travelling, The group are near The Claw's base. There is strange activity in the sky as the moon seems to be glowing with a bluish aura. Carmen laments how they now have to save the world on top of stopping The Claw, which shocks Wendy and Priscilla. The El Dorado Five tell them that they can handle any situation, and are honored to be able to save the world. Joshua notes that the moon seems to be moving towards the planet, meaning they are all in great danger.

The El Dorado Five ask Yukiko if she is just staying for their well being. They suggest she leaves to find safety. Yukiko tells them to forget it, as the moon falling means nowhere is safe.

Suddenly, the Hoverbase is attacked by Fasalina in her Dahlia. She has brought a entire army of 1-0-1 armors to halt their progress. Ray manages to use Volkein to shoot down many 1-0-1's, with guidance by Joshua.

The El Dorado Five use the El Dora Soul to help defend the Hoverbase along with Brownie. This allows Ray to take on Fasalina one on one.

End of a Dream

Jose: "We'll focus on the rear, though Ray, heads up! That front line is all yours!"

Nero: "Make sure you save some of the fun for us!"

Ray: "Do my best. Just take care of things on your end."

Barrio: "Come on kid!"

Jose: "Who do you think you're talking to?" - The El Dorado Five take care of the 1-0-1's

Priscilla and The El Dorado Five work together in fighting off the 1-0-1 armors, defending the Hoverbase. They stay back to defend the rear as the Hoverbase moves onward with Ray.

The El Dorado Five tells Priscilla that if they live through this, they will set her up with Van. Priscilla is embarrassed by this, but will settle with a date with Van. The El Doradro Five suggest they have that date back in Gloria.

As Priscilla and the El Dorado continue to fight against the 1-0-1 army, the entire island starts to shake. They wonder if it's an earthquake but the island starts to rise into the air. Suddenly, parts of the cliff around them collapse, and Priscilla/Brownie are crushed, trapped underneath the fallen rock. The El Dorado fight off many more 1-0-1's, but they end up being knocked out.
